Jill Barshay

Jill Barshay reports on a wide variety of economic, financial and business issues for Marketplace. Over the past 15 years she has covered business subjects from posts in Washington D.C. and around the world.
Prior to joining Marketplace, Jill wrote on tax policy, trade pacts and lobbying at Congressional Quarterly. She has also worked at the Asian Wall Street Journal, the Minneapolis Star Tribune and Dow Jones News Services. Jill began her journalism career as a stringer for the New York Times and the Financial Times in Moscow and Kiev right after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Jill holds a master's degree in political economy from the London School of Economics and a B.A. in history and Russian language from Brown University.
