John Dimsdale

John Dimsdale is a veteran Washington journalist. In the late 1970s, he was a producer and director at National Public Radio. He reported for NPR from the State Department, the White House, Congress and the United Nations. He also produced and anchored newscasts and was associate producer of the weekly NPR international affairs program, Communique.

After leaving NPR, John worked in public television. In 1984 he became the bureau chief of Post Newsweek Stations in Washington. Later, he worked as assignment editor for INN, the Independent News Network. Prior to taking over Marketplace's Washington Bureau, he served as associate director of the Pennsylvania governor's Washington office, focusing on regulatory agencies and legislative analysis, and working with news media and congressmen.

John received his B.A. in international studies at Washington College and his Master's in journalism at the University of Missouri.
