Host, Marketplace Morning Report

Doug Krizner

Doug Krizner became co-host of the Marketplace Morning Report after serving as the show's producer. His on-air radio experience began 30 years ago and includes work at historic KDKA in Pittsburgh.

Doug was introduced to business news in 1992 when Michael Bloomberg hired him as part of a team to create Bloomberg Radio. Through the end of that decade, Doug reported on the financial markets for Bloomberg and its affiliates. He also served as Bloomberg's reporter, covering stock market news for NPR. Doug later led Bloomberg Radio as news director. He was also reporter and host for Bloomberg Television programs on PBS and USA Network.

Beyond broadcast journalism, Doug has worked as a Wall Street stockbroker, and as an actor in the theater in New York, and on television and film. His appearances include O Pioneers! on PBS's American Playhouse and in the DreamWorks feature "Just Like Heaven."

He's a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

"Will makes a great argument. The hostile reception, as indicated by the comments, should be unsurprising. If people actually understood how much immigration has historically benefited us then we wouldn't have the type of protectionist immigration laws we have. If the borders were opened one might see a drop in wages, but considering there would be a correlative drop in prices, it's doubtful there would be an overall harm and most likely considerable benefit..."
