Michelle Phillippe
Michelle is an actor/writer who considers herself lucky to have a day job that's really cool.
Until she lands her dream job as an evil alien space queen, she keeps Marketplace's large editorial department, from LA to Shanghai, in line. She's the producer and the voice of the Marketplace Datebook, voices the very fun Buzzword for Marketplace Money, and has been a host sidekick for nationally aired Marketplace specials. When she's got a spare minute and a Great Thought, she files humorous commentaries and feature stories, too.
And when she's not dwelling in the medium of radio, Michelle has had a long history in theatre and indie film. Sheís appeared in several shorts that have traveled the country on the festival circuit from Methodfest to Fargo. Two have made it all the way to Italy for film festivals in Bra and Rome. One day Michelle will actually go to Italy herself.
On stage, Michelle worked in a series of performances with the innovative company Theatre Movement Bazaar, eventually traveling to Charleston, SC for the Piccolo/Spoleto festival with the critically acclaimed show Cirque Picnique. She has been a company member with Los Angeles theatres Sacred Fools and Zoo District. She currently performs her original work with The Quarterly Report.
It all began for Michelle at Evergreen State College, of which she is a proud graduate.
