Karmazin is Sirius about satellite radio

Mel Karmazin

After running CBS and Viacom, Mel Karmazin now heads up Sirius Satellite Radio. He tells Kai Ryssdal that he expects radio via satellite to one day be as common as cable TV. Another in our "Conversations From the Corner Office" series.

Who: Mel Karmazin, Chief Executive Officer, Sirius Satellite Radio

Joined Sirius in 2004 as CEO. Before that, he was president and COO of Viacom; president and CEO of CBS.

First paying job: Working at an ad agency.

Education: Earned a B.A. in accounting and advertising from Pace University in night school.

What you may not know: Word has it that Karmazin is publicity shy. According to Newsweek, when Howard Stern was at CBS, he was forbidden to use Karmazin's name on the air.
