Buzzword: Burnable movies

Life is hard enough without having to decipher everything. Each week, Marketplace Money brings you a word or a phrase that has bubbled to the top of the news. For instance: burnable movies. You hear it, you see it, but do you really know it?

The hottest trend in Hollywood brings us this week's Marketplace Money Buzzword: burnable movies.

No, not movies so bad you want to set the theater on fire. Burnable Movies can be downloaded to your computer and then copied to a DVD.

Until now, you couldn't legally download burnable movies. You could only store and watch digital copies on a single computer.

But this week, Web site CinemaNow began offering burnable movies, starting at $10 a pop. Anti-piracy technology insures they can't be copied more than once.

Or so Hollywood studios hope. 'Cause if they're wrong, their industry could get seriously burned.
