Day in the Work Life: Cattle rancher
To demystify some common misconceptions about ranchers: having a lot of land doesn't make you rich, it isn't a totally male-dominated industry, and it's not so easy to inseminate a cow.
Rancher Kelli Loos poses with some of the tools of her trade -- equipment for artificially inseminating cows. She wears a shoulder length blue glove on her left hand. Sticking out of her sweatshirt is the insemination "gun" -- she keeps it next to her skin to keep it the proper temperature. (Martin Wells)
