TEXT OF STORY

KAI RYSSDAL:

This final note . . . The World Series starts tonight, as you have surely heard. But a furniture company in Boston started thinking about this week back at the beginning of the season.

Jordan's Furniture -- owned by Warren Buffet, as it happens -- ran a big promo back in March and April. Buyers would get back the full purchase price for their couches -- or whatever they buy --if the Sox were to win the World Series.

We gave CEO Eliot Tatelman a call earlier to ask him if he was worried about possibly having to pay back all those millions of dollars.

Eliot Tatelman: Oh no. Are you kidding? This is the greatest thing we ever did. We've sold a ton of furniture. We've got a ton of people rooting for the Red Sox. And here we are in the World Series. It couldn't get any better.

Especially because he's also got an insurance policy to help him pay out, if need be.
