I am by no means an expert, yet after 8 years of higher education and my interest in business capitalism and the markets, I can say that I know a little something about economics. While I would call fears ordinary and can say I have three personal connections to the fears and anxieties "the rest of us" have I think that experts know what they are talking about for a reason and they may sound like they have no personal connection because they know what they are talking about. They have the tools that others are lacking to see the problems for what it is and to ensure that they have done something about it. We all should do the same.

I'm so sick & tired of hearing all these experts talk about the economic, energy, & environmental crisis, because it always seems that despite being so knowledgeable about their individual areas of expertise, they have no personal connection to the "ordinary" fears & anxieties that the rest of us feel. They all sound so smug & well insulated, patronizing us like the politicians in Washington.
