Playing for time, praying for change
Last week, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke said the bailout of Bear Stearns might've set a dangerous precedent. Allan Sloan from Fortune Magazine tells Scott Jagow why he calls the Fed's strategy "play and pray."
Allan Sloan is a senior editor-at-large at Fortune (APM)

I just love Allan Sloan. Not only is he fun to listen to but he's also so "right on." Or maybe it's the other way around -- not only is he "right on" but he's fun to listen to. Either way -- both ways -- I wish he were on every day.
But regarding his idea that all the execs who created these messes be stripped of their fortunes, branded, and exiled I think he's being way too kind. I'd find a way to put them in a real prison -- not Club Fed -- and let them share a cell with a 300 lb. paranoid schizophrenic. Now THAT'S my idea of deterrence!
