What's the fix?

Gingrich: Don't get in over your head

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-GA)

We continue our occasional series, "What's the Fix?" with former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who would cork the issues revolving around an economic meltdown by not encouraging people to spend where they can't afford it.

Unfortunately, I am not sure what story Daly Steven (Steven Daly?) was listening to, but Newt had some good insight on the issue. I was never very impressed with him as House Speaker, but he talks about the same things now that I hear from Obama. We need to help the small business owner, we need to make sure that people can afford the houses they buy, and we need to stop bailing out corporations. Pretty straigt-forward, it would seem.

Asking Newt Gingrich for economic advice is like asking a someone who believes the earth is flat for navigation tips. The advice is irritating, irrational, and not relevant. The current election represents an important step in America's recovery from the sway of Gingrich and his camp. This commentary belongs in the dust bin of history and soon, we hope, we won't be subjected to this type of nonsense any longer.
