Chris Farrell, I listened last weekend to you on KSJN, in Minneapolis. Your commentary on the John Stewart Daily Show , was remarkable because you are as guilty as the CNBC Jim Cramer ilk. A year or so ago, you recommended, and I ignored, Fanny-May, Freddy-Mac as fully safe investments.
Your advice was, and is, as flawed as all advice. Your “track record,” is crap.

i love marketplace but your advice couldn't be more wrong. true, we shouldn't listen to some talking head's opinion about this/that stock, but i glean much valuable information on how the market works by listnening to CNBC on sat radio. i'm not a day trader but i prefer to take my financial future in my own hands as opposed to putting my money in some fund and praying that whoever/whatever is controlling it, will be able to return my money by the time i am ready to retire. i'm sure many retirement age boomers wish they had done so. CNBC is a tool, and like all tools, it should be used in the right way.

Shame on you! Chris and Tess. My goodness! Did you even watch The Daily Show?!?! Jon Stuart's main issue was the financial misdeeds, "the side bets", which got us into this trouble and the fact that the financial news organizations didn't report what was going on, even though they knew about it. Market Place continues to be clueless about the criminal activity that took place. Please watch "House of Cards" on CNBC and some of the recent 60 minutes. Then please adjust your reporting accordingly.
