TEXT OF INTERVIEW
RENITA JABLONSKI: Have you binged yet? Microsoft sure hopes so. Bing is the name of Microsoft's new search engine that launched June 3rd. We learned this week it gained some market share from that other big search engine... Ah, Google. Rob Enderle follows tech trends at the Enderle Group. He says, that's a nice start but they have a long way to go.
ROB ENDERLE: One month in a market that's pretty much been locked down for a while, that's actually not bad. If they cross over 10 percent, which is certainly possible, I think they're going to be in pretty good shape.
To have a shot at that, Enderle says, Microsoft needs to sustain its aggressive marketing campaign for Bing.
ENDERLE:They have to continue to market and showcase not only the advantages that they have, for instance, the recent addition of Twitter content to the engine, as well as point out aggressively, the disadvantages that Google search has.
But Enderle says the clock is ticking.
ENDERLE:They don't have unlimited time. They need to be able to show that they've made significant market share gains. Certainly more than a percent probably by the end of the year.
