About a classic American board game and how it reflects the state of the U.S. economy. Hasbro has released the design for an updated version of Monopoly to mark the game's 75th anniversary this fall.Things are a little bit... different than most of us remember.
First of all, there's no paper money. No player acting as banker. It's all debit cards and ATM machines.
Also, forget passing go and collecting $200 as in the original. It's $2 million now -- inflation, I suppose.
Here's the best part. The board's round -- all the properties are laid out on this disc-like thing that's kind of shaped like a bubble. A real-estate bubble, if you will.
