Deadlines really do make a difference.

There is now no plan for a comprehensive climate-change deal coming out of Copenhagen next month.

That explains the announcement from Senator John Kerry today. Kerry's a co-sponsor of the climate-change bill in the Senate. He said today Democrats won't try to get it passed now until early spring of next year.

It'll be third in line behind health care and new financial regulations.
