Kai Ryssdal's final note...
Back a year ago when the market really started going south you heard a lot of financial advisers say the best thing to do was... nothing. Sit tight and wait it out.Today from Fidelity Investments comes confirmation of the soundness of that strategy. Fidelity says its account holders, with a good mix of stocks and bonds in their 401(k)'s, are back in positive territory. Not by much.
Once you take out employer and personal contributions, the one year return was 0.4%.
But when you think about where a lot of us were back at the market lows in March... not really so bad.
