Face Value

A smaller nose...slimmer hips...a more-defined chin. Almost everyone at some point or another wishes they could change how they look. The beauty industry feeds on those dreams. In this series, we look at five different aspects of the business -- dieting, plastic surgery, men’s beauty products and services, women’s magazines, and modeling -- to see how they shape, and respond to, our perceptions of physical beauty.
