Iraqi Combat Stress ... a Reality
A U.S. Marine was killed in Iraq today during a clash with militants outside the town of Fallujah. That brings to 633 the number of U.S. troops who've been killed since the start of the invasion last year. But the war is also taking a psychological toll on men and women in the armed forces. That's according to a study published today in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Auditing Iraq
The goverment's watchdog over spending on Iraqi reconstruction has come out with its first three audits. It may not sound like juicy summer reading. But check out these tidbits: - Lavish spending by contractors in a five-star resort hotel. - Lax supervision of donations from other countries and international aid groups. Marketplace did some digging into the first batch of audits from the Inspector General assigned to the Coalition Provisional Authority.
