How to Beat OPEC
Gas prices are at new record highs. Today the American Automobile Association reported the national average for regular unleaded is $1.77 a gallon. That's two cents higher than the all-time record set last summer. Not only has our historic driving season yet to start, but just last week, OPEC said it's tightening the spigots. That leaves drivers - and policymakers - wondering what to do about rising gasoline costs.

Homeless Economics
Each winter many cities put special plans into action to to make sure their homeless population isn't left out in the cold. But now that spring has arrived, what happens to the homeless? They may not make the nightly news, but they're still among us. Here in Los Angeles, an estimated 85,000 people make up the county's 'placeless population'. Advocates for the homeless are trying to make sure these thousands have food to eat and cots to sleep on even as the weather gets warmer. But some prefer life on the street to a bed inside.
