Gasoline prices are running about $1.90 a gallon nationwide. That's taken some of the heat off driving vacations this long holiday weekend.
But you might want to fill up on your way back from the beach or the mountains on this Monday, July 5th.
Flare-ups in two hotspots could send gasoline prices higher again.

Auto Dealers as Campaign Donors
While you were kicking back this weekend, it was no holiday for the presidential candidates. George Bush was in West Virginia, John Kerry in Iowa. Both were campaigning for support and donations. The Bush camp still has the financial edge, with about $215 million raised as of the end of May.

Jimi Hendrix - Battles Over His Music Rage On
When it comes to updating the patriotic classics, Jimi Hendrix pretty much owns "The Star Spangled Banner".
But who owns the rights to that recording and hundreds of others like it in the Hendrix catalog? The man many people consider the greatest rock guitarist of all time died almost 35 years ago without leaving a will. His family has spent many of the years since then wrangling over legal issues. They headed back to court again last week to try and resolve the situation.

Vacation, Vocation, or Both?
Booked your summer vacation yet? If not, you could have a tough time snagging that beach-front hotel room on Maui or renting a convertible in Vegas.
The Travel Industry Association of America says this summer is shaping up to be the biggest ever for domestic travel--up 3.2 percent from last year.
But if lazing by the pool is too pedestrian for you, how about using your vacation to jumpstart your career--or even change it completely?

One For The Money, Two For The Show ...
Fifty years ago today, Elvis Presley cut his first record. He was just 19 - auditioning at Sun Records in Memphis. Legend has it - things weren't going so well. Then, during a break, he and couple of other musicians started goofing around, playing an old blues tune. "That's All Right" -- and it was.
The song launched Presley's career... and ultimately, a small industry.
