United Airlines fights to stay alive
Today UAL, the parent company of United Airlines, announced quarterly losses of $247 million. According to company bosses, there's no way the airline will emerge from bankruptcy unless costs are cut. To that end, United announced this week it'll stop making contributions to employee pension plans.
